Today, as part of Brake's Road Safety Week, we are highlighting the vital work of our emergency services.
Did you know that between April 1 2022 and March 31 2023, South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue attended 412 road traffic collisions of which 102 (25%) involved extrications?
Since April this year, firefighters have attended 235 road traffic collisions and of those, around 30% (71 incidents) involved an extrication.
We are so grateful for all of our post-collision carers who help to save lives as well as reducing the severity of injuries and supporting those living with trauma.
Road safety is everyone's responsibility. So let's go back to the theme of this year's week of action: speed. Do you think it's ok to travel above the speed limit?
